$ 290.00

A vibrant orange, yellow ocher, red sienna and brown colored butterscotch dolomite maiden figure depicting a large corn maiden at the top of the carving with jet features, incised corn rows and long flowing hair. Under the corn maiden are two small maidens carved in low relief - they also have jet features and all three have turquoise dot pendants. This carving was created by the now deceased Faye Quandelacy who sadly died in September of 2022. Maidens symbolize abundance, fertility and feminine energy and corn maidens are revered in Zuni for giving up their life to help sustain the Zuni tribe with their corn bodies.
