Loren Tsalabutie

Loren Tsalabutie was a boy of sixteen when his famous father, Jeff Tsalabutie, died suddenly. Although he had been carving since he was thirteen, there was much to learn and two years of high school to complete.

With firm guidance from his mother, Sherdine, Loren learned to carve under the tutelage of his uncle Gibbs Othole. He now uses high quality stones from around the world and is carving is in a style similar to his dad.

In his first Santa Fe Indian Market appearance in 2010, Loren was awarded one of ten Fellowships. In the 2013 Santa Fe Indian Market, his Labradorite mountain lion fetish was awarded first place in the Zuni Fetish category. Now Loren's work consistently wins awards - his style is maturing & his choice of stones are par none.
