The face stands out in low relief -in part due to the gray vein that circles it. Below the face is a Zuni prayer bowl with some brick rows added just above it. The bear on the back side is carved in high relief with all but the back on full display - with descriptive fur lines incised all over the body. Around the bear is a wall - created from the back side of the Chief's headdress. There is a slight base created from the same stone that allows the bear and the prayer bowl to stand out.
