Picasso Marble Mountain Lion by Dan Quam, Deceased

$ 360.00

A fantastic cream, brown and gray veined Picasso marble mountain lion on the prowl carved by the now deceased Dan Quam - who died sadly in October of 2021 at the age of 72 we have been told. The lion has all it's legs carved in great detail in the round and is taking a step forward with its left foot as it looks to its left side. The tail is carved creating a loop - lent support consequently from both ends. Dan has incised fur all over the lion's body - even the tail. For the Zuni, the lion represents the guardian of the north - he is the master hunter, revered for intelligence, prowess and strength of will. The mountain lion enjoys the prestige of being one of the most capable predators, and therefore conveys to man a spirit to refine goals, preserve, and achieve.
