A dark mother-of-pearl maiden figure wearing a tablita headdress - carved by Sandra Quandelacy featuring a a corn maiden on one side and a young maiden on the opposite side - both with jet inlaid features. the maiden is inlaid to a triangular shaped picture jasper base with a small pipestone bowl inlaid to it with turquoise chips added inside the bowl and on the edge of the base of the side of the white mother-of-pearl side. The maiden wears a shawl that has incised dragonflies inlaid with jet pigment. Maidens symbolize the divine gift of the harvest, fertility, and life-giving abundance. They are highly revered fetishes representing the nurturing feminine energies, the creation of sustenance, and the connection to the earth's cycles.
