Picasso Marble Mountain Lion by Anthony Mecale, Deceased

$ 150.00

A detailed brown, gray, black colored Picasso marble mountain lion with turquoise inlaid eyes and one prominent tan streak running down the top of the left side of the lion - carved by the deceased Anthony Mecale - who died prior to 2025 and is the son of the deceased Dan Quam. Anthony has incised fur all over the lion's body and he created a tea cup handle raised tail that loops back over the body - lent support from both ends. For the Zuni, the lion represents the guardian of the north - he is the master hunter, revered for intelligence, prowess and strength of will. The mountain lion enjoys the prestige of being one of the most capable predators, and therefore conveys to man a spirit to refine goals, preserve, and achieve.
