Turquoise Maiden by Sandra Quandelacy

$ 120.00

A turquoise maiden double carved by Sandra Quandelacy depicting a corn maiden on one side and a mother on the prominent brown matrix side - both have jet inlaid features. The corn maiden wears an apple coral pendant, has nicely incised corn rows with one coral dot inlaid amidst them - depicting a kernel. On the opposite side, the mother wears a turquoise pendant and has an incised dragonfly on each side - inlaid with jet pigment. Maidens symbolize the divine gift of the harvest, fertility, and life-giving abundance. They are highly revered fetishes representing the nurturing feminine energies, the creation of sustenance, and the connection to the earth's cycles.
