Wild Horse Rock Wolf by Lance Cheama

$ 220.00

A prominent dark maroon, brown umber, raw sienna, gray and white spotted wild horse rock wolf carved by Lance Cheama looking to its right side with turquoise inlaid eyes as it takes a step forward with its left front paw. Lance has created all the feet in the round and carved a big fluffy tail to bring up the rear. It is of note that not many lines are incised on the wolf - only on the face to create whiskers and around the legs' juncture to the side of the body. For the Zuni, the wolf represents loyalty, family devotion, and the strength of the community. Because wolves mate for life and hunt together in packs, the Zuni see them as ultimate symbols of lifelong partnership, cooperation, and group survival.
