Antler Frog by Robert Michael Weahkee
A cream colored resting frog carved by Robert Michael Weahkee from an antler burr with turquoise dot eyes inlaid to the top of the raised eye sockets. Robert has inlaid seven dots to the center of the frog's back - four are inlaid in turquoise and three are coral - suggesting rain drops we have been told. The Zuni believe the frog is a reminder that we are all the same - development wise - we begin as tiny fishlike creatures in the womb then we evolve from swimmers to creatures of the land. The frogs sings its song reminding us of our watery beginning.
