Zuni Rock (travertine) Badger With Cub by Kimberly Kallestewa
A sweet badger with its cub on top of its back carved by Kimberly Kallestewa - the partner of Enrike Leekya. The pair are carved from pieces of Zuni rock and both have pen shell inlaid snouts and eyes that look up at the viewer. An offering bundle is placed on top of the badger cub with sinew featuring a pen and smaller mussel shell arrowhead. Animals carved with their offspring depict the bond that exists and grows daily between the parent and child - no matter the species. Badger medicine bolsters one's defenses; most especially one's self preservation skills by focusing/guiding the spirit to be more tenacious and grounded when working towards a goal.
