Leland Boone and Daphne Quam
Serpentine Turtle by Leland Boone and Daphne Quam
A green two tone veined serpentine sea turtle carved by Leland Boone and Daphne Quam looking slightly to its right side with coral inlaid eyes. The couple left the turtle's shell void of any markings - allowing the veins in the stone to create movement. Note: their is one cream spot located under the turtle's right eye. Indigenous people recognize the turtle as the symbol of Mother Earth - some Native Americans believe that the turtle contributed to creation because the turtle dove into the primeval waters to retrieve mud to create Mother Earth. The turtle is regarded as a skillful navigator through life's difficulties. Turtle medicine teaches one to go with the flow.
