At the center of the back Herbert inlaid a rounded circular turquoise cab that resembles the earth. Then Herbert incised six flowers all around it in low relief - inlaying a round dot at the center - four of the dots are turquoise with a red synthetic red opal dot inlaid to the center of the frog's forehead in the flower\/star burst - then there is a lapis dot added to the flower at the bottom of the inlaid turquoise earth cab. There are decorative designs lines added to the top of each leg inlaid with dots as well - namely turquoise and coral. There are more incised designs under the frog's chin - there is lots to see on this frog. The darkest black area of the stone is positioned at the bottom of the carving near the feet and back end. The Zuni believe the frog is a reminder that we are all the same - development wise - we begin as tiny fishlike creatures in the womb then we evolve from swimmers to creatures of the land.
