Marble Rabbit by Gilbert Lonjose
A small amber colored marble rabbit with big turquoise inlaid eyes carved by Gilbert Lonjose. The stone sure looks like amber but it is too heavy and there is variegated color to it so it would appear this is a marble of some sort, we think. Gilbert has incised whiskers, the snout and the rabbit's two front teeth with the salient forms being the ears and tail. The Zuni believe the rabbit represents virtue, serenity, quiet talent and restraint. Rabbit must depend on its sensitive hearing, its quick reflexes, wit and ability to smell danger to survive. Rabbit medicine teaches us to live life to its fullest for our physical forms are transitory
