Serpentine Sea Turtle by Karen Zunie
A soft muted green colored serpentine sea turtle carved by Karen Zunie looking to it's right side with turquoise inlaid eyes. Karen has incised a cross hatch pattern on the top of the turtle's head as well as flipper definition and the scutes on the top of the turtle's shell. Indigenous people recognize the turtle as the symbol of Mother Earth - some Native Americans believe that the turtle contributed to creation because the turtle dove into the primeval waters to retrieve mud to create Mother Earth.
