Picasso Marble And Lepidolite Frogs by Kent Banteah Jr, Deceased
Two grayish tan Picasso marble frogs with turquoise inlaid eyes - rest on a sparkle/glitter lepidolite leaf. Carved by the now deceased Kent Banteah, we found this sweet duo in one of our older unlisted inventory boxes. Frogs are the result of water so are associated with the prominence of rain and are used to encourage the growth of crops. Zuni believe the frog is a reminder that we are all the same - development wise - we begin as tiny fishlike creatures in the womb then we evolve from swimmers to creatures of the land. The frogs sings its song reminding us of our watery beginning.
