Serpentine Frog by Andrew and Laura Quam, Deceased

$ 90.00

A low-to-the-ground red sienna and mauve tinged serpentine frog with turquoise eyes inlaid to the raised eye sockets. The frog has jet inlaid webbed feet and six turquoise dots inlaid to the center of the frog's back - forming a triangle shape. This small frog was carved by Andrew Quam and his now deceased wife - Laura Quam. The Zuni believe the frog is a reminder that we are all the same - development wise - we begin as tiny fishlike creatures in the womb, then we evolve from swimmers to creatures of the land. The frogs sings its song reminding us of our watery beginning.
