Antler Moose by Pernell Laate, Deceased - Zuni Fetish

$ 900.00

A fantastic cream and gray tinged antler moose carved poised at the top of an incline - utilizing the burr to create the moose's horns. The wider part of horn tip was used to create the incline - this allows the moose's feet to be carved in the round. This exceptional moose carving was created by Pernell Laate - a brother of Maxx Laate's who died around 2008. The moose has jet inlaid eyes and incised fur all over the body excluding its face. Moose are known for their great strength - being the largest member of the deer family. We can view the bellow of the male moose as a positive force because it is his willingness to “tell the world” about his feelings & sense of self worth.
