Cottonwood Katchina by Tiffany Tsabetsaye

$ 900.00

An acrylic painted cottonwood carved Katchina called Tc-a-K-wena or Black Face. This Katchina dances for snow & rain at the winter and summer dances every 4 years. The dance was shared with the Laguna Pueblo and changes were made to the Katchina - the bobbed hair with cotton bands placed around it & the duck placed on top of the head. Tiffany Tsabetsa is a member of the Small Kiva group that performs this dance & he creatively carved this Katchina dancing symbolically over the pueblo.
