Chris created a base from the same stone - allowing the bird to have a lyrical pose - looking upwards at the sky with turquoise inlaid eyes. There are nicely defined feather rows on the wings with the rest of the body in contrast - carved smooth and polished. Chris gave the crow a wonderful offering bundle created as a necklace with turquoise beads surrounding one branch coral bead. The Zuni people believe the crow is the keeper of sacred law. In the Zuni creation myth - when the Zunis reached the Middle World - what we call earth - they were given a choice between two eggs.
