A tan, muted pink and red ocher colored onyx sea turtle carved by Travis Panteah looking to its right side with turquoise inlaid eyes. The artist incised the scutes on the top of the turtle's shell, then he inlaid four turquoise and four pen shell dots inside them. Indigenous people recognize the turtle as the symbol of Mother Earth - some Native Americans believe that the turtle contributed to creation because the turtle dove into the primeval waters to retrieve mud to create Mother Earth.
