$ 155.00

A white marble wolf plays host to his 5 brothers - creating in form the 6 animals the Zuni revere and the directions and colors they represent - carved by Ernie Mackel III. From the wolf's left side - there is a gold-lip mountain lion representing the north - yellow is its directional color followed by an abalone eagle which represents the zenith heavenly realm and rainbow colors are usually used - like this iridescent abalone shell. On top of the wolf's back is an apple coral badger mounted to a clam shell arrowhead. The badger represents the southern direction and red is his directional color. Finally, on the wolf's right side is a turquoise bear - the blue brother of the west and a jet mole that represents the nadir underworld. All but the turquoise bear have turquoise inlaid eyes and are securely placed on the wolf's back with sinew, coral, turquoise and lapis beads along with pen shell heishi.
