A blue green, bluish black and cadmium red colored medicine bear with coral inlaid eyes carved by the now deceased Bernard Homer. Bernard added a lovely bundle to the top of the bear's back with sinew featuring a turquoise arrowhead topped with a coral and turquoise bead. Bernard Homer, Junior - was a nephew to Sarah Leekya who was the most knowledgeable about the famous Leekya carvers in the family. Bernard died around 2015 and is sadly missed. The Zuni believe the bear is endowed with curative powers, strength, adaptability and courage - powers that can influence both the spiritual and physical realm.
