Surfite Rabbit by Georgette Quam

$ 45.00

A striking orange, green, vibrant blue, turquoise and lime green colored surfite rabbit with turquoise inlaid eyes and long ears carved by Georgette Quam. Georgette has carved the rabbit's legs and feet as two simplified forms then she incised the nails.The ears are carved laying back on top of the head. The Zuni believe the rabbit represents virtue, serenity, quiet talent and restraint. The rabbit also symbolizes fertility, luck, and creativity. Often associated with springtime and new beginnings, these happy critters are a reminder that life is full of possibility. Surfite is a unique, colorful, recycled material made from hardened, layered surfboard resin and fiberglass runoff from shaping shops.
