A lovely ten dot squash blossom necklace is worn for adornment as well as a sash that has seven turquoise hand made dots inlaid between jet pigment inlaid angles and two jet vertical lines. The maiden's matta\/dress is adorned with a rain cloud on the front - with incised lines inlaid with jet. The lower portion of the dress has incised corn cobs inlaid with coral and turquoise dots. On the lower edge of the maiden's dress - Claudia has incised triangles that are in turn inlaid with jet diagonal lines. Maidens symbolize abundance, fertility and feminine energy and the corn maiden is venerated in Zuni for giving up her life for the health of the community.
