Bowlerite Rabbit by Danette Laate

$ 48.00

A rabbit with turquoise inlaid eyes made from bowlerite aka; a bowling ball! Carved by Danette Laate, this lovely has layers that are semi transparent with a purplish tint, yellow, cadmium red, dark purple, green and cerulean blue to name most. On the top of the back end of the rabbit, Danette has inlaid a small turquoise, jet and coral Zuni sun face then inlaid four turquoise dots around it. The sun face is an ancient symbol in Zuni culture, representing the sacred Sun Father. The symbol's round motif depicts the Sun with a forehead split down the middle to reflect the eternal balance between sunrise and sunset. To the Zuni, the sun face represents prosperity, happiness, peace, hope, optimism, and positive energy. The Zuni believe the rabbit represents virtue, serenity, quiet talent and restraint. The rabbit also symbolizes fertility, luck, and creativity. Often associated with springtime and new beginnings, these happy critters are a reminder that life is full of possibility.
