Bremette Epaloose - Deceased
White Marble Bear by Bremette Epaloose - Deceased
A sitting white marble bear carved by the now deceased Bremette Epaloose looking to its left side with turquoise inlaid eyes. Bremette died sadly in 2015. He was a prolific carver who taught his nephew Hiram Peynetsa and many other family members to carve. Bremette has inlaid three bear paws to the bear - one to the back of the neck and on both sides of the hind legs near the rump. The Zuni believe the bear is endowed with curative powers, strength, adaptability and courage - powers that can influence both the spiritual and physical realm.
