We are happy to have received this lovely on the last day of December 2024. Only the maiden's bangs peak out from the kilt she wears like a shawl. As well, the hands are carved in low relief on the area of the maiden's matta\/dress - close as well to three pipestone pigment inlaid star bursts with hand made Carico, Nevada quarried turquoise dot\/centers. The maiden wears a double strand necklace composed from nineteen Mediterranean coral hand made dots with one lapis pendant. There is a seamless row of semi precious stones and shell inlaid to the bottom of the maiden's matta. Troy has created the rounded forms then inlaid them to the dress - utilizing bits of abalone, lapis, Spider Web turquoise, pink mussel shell, cuprite\/Sonoran sunrise, blue green Fox Mine turquoise, gaspeite, Mediterranean coral and mother-of-pearl to name most. On the back of the maiden's kilt is a second band of color - formed from bits of pin shell, gold-lip, Fox Mine blue green turquoise, lapis and mother-of-pearl. Above this band on the back are six incised triangles inlaid with dots which we have been told symbolize rain clouds. The dots are created from Japanese pink opal, azurite\/malachite, Fox Mine turquoise, citrine and Mediterranean coral. The maiden's moccasins are burnished around the bottom edge then have a turquoise clasp. This is a quite lovely maiden - we love how the she is carved reverently looking up at the sky.
