A muted periwinkle grayish blue colored angelite sea turtle carved by the the abstract carver Melvin Sandoval looking to its left side with the flippers slightly raised from the ground suggesting movement. Melvin also added a striking offering bundle featuring a dark red and cream veined Nevada sandstone arrowhead - topped with three turquoise beads surrounded by melon shell heishi. Indigenous people recognize the turtle as the symbol of Mother Earth - some Native Americans believe that the turtle contributed to creation because the turtle dove into the primeval waters to retrieve mud to create Mother Earth.
