Boulder, CO Turquoise Eagle, Double by Troy Sice

$ 1,200.00

A striking Royston ribbon turquoise eagle double carved from a stone quarried in the Boulder turquoise mine in northeast Nevada. This dynamic duo was carved by Troy Sice with one bird nestled on top of the other - facing different directions with nicely rounded Mediterranean coral inlaid eyes. Both of the eagles' heads are carved in a gray colored area of the stone with the wings and lower portion of the standing eagle on the bottom possessing the most blue coloration. We love the wings on the back of the resting eagle on top - which can be viewed from above in the fifth image from the left. The wings are not smooth to the touch - rather the wings are left in the natural formation of this particular stone - quite lovely. Birds carved as doubles suggest in stone the amount of team work involved in raising baby chicks. Eagle medicine helps man to gain perspective of self - namely in panoramic vision. The Zuni believe the creator made the eagle to be a teacher for mankind - and due to their ability to fly the highest; they can send our prayers to the great divine.
