Serpentine Maiden by Andres Lementino

$ 55.00

A small veridian and grass green serpentine maiden with a creamy gray head and turquoise inlaid eyes and mouth carved by Andres Lementino - delivered to Sunshine Studio in May of 2025. The maiden wears a coral dot pendant with corn rows incised on both sides. The maiden has a squash blossom hair style that is often called a whirl which designates her single status. Maidens symbolize abundance, fertility and feminine energy and corn maidens are revered in Zuni for giving up their life to help sustain the Zuni tribe with their corn bodies.
