A turquoise maiden figure with a prominent gray matrix and jet features featuring a corn maiden on one side and a mother on the opposite side - carved by Sandra Quandelacy. Sandra has carved the corn rows then inlaid a lapis, clam shell and apple coral dot in the midst of them - symbolizing kernels. On the side of the mother, Sandra has incised four dragonflies then inlaid them with jet. Maidens symbolize abundance, fertility and feminine energy and the corn maiden is venerated in Zuni for giving up her life for the health of the community.
