Robert created a base from a two point horn then attached a horned owl at one end and a barn owl on the other. The antler stand has a hole incised near the tip of each point - about one eighth inch round. Then each owl is attached to the base with a leather loop that has been inlaid well to the top of each of the owls' heads. Robert burnished a ring around the edge of the horned owl then he incised a line running down the middle of the line. There is also a burnished beak and again; concave eye sockets inlaid with turquoise beads with jet pupils. Both the birds have three incised strips at the top of the wings, with the strips on the barn owl incised with arcs. The tips and edges of all four wings are burnished as well as the bottom edge of the carvings. The owls have fantastic necklaces that act as offering bundles featuring three oblong lemon quartz beads surrounded by eight Baltic amber beads, three clear quartz beads as well as two lemon quartz beads. Robert won an award for a similar carving at the 2024 Santa Fe Indian Market so we are very happy to have this duo to offer our valued carvings.
