Picasso Marble Rabbit by Michael Coble
A small gray, tan, brown and white spotted Picasso marble rabbit with incised whiskers carved by Michael Coble. Michael has carved the ears prominently laying downwards on the top of the head then he incised veins in the concave inner ear - called a pinna. The front feet are carved in the round suggesting movement and there is a big fluffy round tail bringing up the rear. The Zuni believe the rabbit represents virtue, serenity, quiet talent and restraint. The rabbit also symbolizes fertility, luck, and creativity. Often associated with springtime and new beginnings, these happy critters are a reminder that life is full of possibility.
