Brion Hattie
Fluorite Sea Turtle by Brion Hattie
A muted greenish purple sea turtle with one brown spot and a few cream streak with pin point coral inlaid eyes carved by Brion Hattie. Brion has incised the scuts on the top of the turtle's shell and has carved large fins for the turtle to navigate water. Note: that Brion has left a few rough spots on the top of the turtle's shell - to the right of the brown spot. Indigenous people recognize the turtle as the symbol of Mother Earth - some Native Americans believe that the turtle contributed to creation because the turtle dove into the primeval waters to retrieve mud to create Mother Earth. The turtle is regarded as a skillful navigator through life's difficulties. Turtle medicine teaches one to go with the flow.
