This lovely with anthropomorphic like qualities was carved by Ray Tsalate and delivered to Sunshine Studio in September of 2018. Ray has told us that the oval inlaid shapes represent raindrops and the circular inlaid stones represent spots. Fourteen raindrops are inlaid with a paste made from grounded pipestone, there are also seven jet inlaid ovals and eight green serpentine painted raindrops. Ray has inlaid thirteen hand made Mediterranean coral, four malachite and three lapis spots around the jet, serpentine and pipestone raindrops - quite amazing. The front hands are very expressive - it is like the frog is looking up at the viewer and saying; \"choose me\"! The Zuni believe the frog is a reminder that we are all the same - development wise - we begin as tiny fishlike creatures in the womb then we evolve from swimmers to creatures of the land.
