Pipestone Medicine Bear by Albert Eustace
An iron red colored pipestone low-to-the-ground rambling bear carved by Albert Eustace. Albert has carved the bear looking to it's left side with big turquoise inlaid eyes as its left foot is carved in the process of taking a step. Some polishing compound has been left in the low spots created from the incised nose, mouth and ears as well as the claws - giving depth to these features. A simple offering bundle addet to the top with sinew features one large clam shell with melon shell heishi placed on top of it. The Zuni believe the bear is endowed with curative powers, strength, adaptability and courage - powers that can influence both the spiritual and physical realm.
