Eric Martinez Zuni Fetishes
Eric Martinez is the son of Florentino Martinez and Harrietta Byers Martinez - now deceased. He learned to carve from both his parents. His father's influence is quite evident & though he is in his late twenties to early thirties, he is fearless in creating very delicate carvings - arms, wings and legs are extended & are carved in the round and the animals or dancers hold instruments, rattles, canes or prayer jars. Most notably, Eric has perfected the Kokopelli, the dragonfly maiden, many dancers, insects & the esteemed Shalako.
