Badger Pocket, OR. Petrified Wood Bear by Chris Sandoval

$ 775.00

A medicine bear carved in Badger Pocket, Oregon petrified wood with round apple coral inlaid eyes - created by Chris Sandoval. Chris has given this bear a magnificent offering bundle featuring turquoise and amber beads surrounding three striking branch coral beads. This stone is a petrified sycamore wood or fossil platanus - formed in the Miocene age - approximately about 15.5 million years old. This unique petrified wood discovered in the 60's is found only in one place in the world, from the Squaw Creek forest southeast of Kittitas, Washington and is now extremely rare to find. Chris is unique in that he will pay expensive prices to acquire rare stones to carve his animals. Petrified wood in general is said to be a stone of patience, and slow and steady growth. It is believed that petrified wood helps one overcome limiting emotional patterns handed down through one's ancestors.
