All four maidens have jet inlaid features and balance a water jar on the top of the their heads. There are coral, melon shell, turquoise and lapis dots inlaid as pendants, star bursts or in the corn rows - giving the eyes plenty of visual landing points. Also there are grayish fossil markings on both sides - a reminder of the nautiloid marine mollusks from the Paleozoic era - that are relatives of today's octopus and squid.
