A picture jasper maiden figure carved by the now deceased Rhoda Quam depicting four mothers and one corn maiden. The corn maiden has a turquoise inlaid face and nicely incised corn rows with the four faces inlaid to the three other sides inlaid in apple coral, spiny oyster and turquoise - all with jet inlaid features. Maidens symbolize abundance, fertility and feminine energy & the corn maiden is venerated in Zuni for giving up her life for the health of the community.
