Picasso Marble Bird, Eagle by Darrin Boone

$ 45.00

A gray and black Picasso marble eagle with jet inlaid concave eye sockets and a turquoise beak carved by Darrin Boone. There is a small base carved from the same stone with a spiny oyster, turquoise, jet and clam shell Zuni sun face. The Sun face is an ancient symbol in Zuni culture, representing the sacred Sun Father. The symbol's round motif depicts the Sun with a forehead split down the middle to reflect the eternal balance between sunrise and sunset. To the Zuni, the Sunface represents prosperity, happiness, peace, hope, optimism, and positive energy. The Zuni believe the creator made the eagle to be a teacher for mankind - and due to their ability to fly the highest; they can send our prayers to the great divine.
