Orthoceras Badger by Loren Tsalabutie

$ 300.00

An orthoceras badger with turquoise inlaid eyes carved by Loren Tsalabutie with a mother-of-pearl arrowhead perched on top. Orthoceras was an ancient mollusk that lived more than 400 million years ago. The name means straight horn, referring to the characteristic long, straight, conical shell whose remains can be seen behind this badger's arrowhead - creating a natural heart line. Independent and tenacious; the badger is also a symbol of protection and defense, because the badger is always ready to defend its boundaries. The badger is thought by the Zuni to posses knowledge of herbs so is good to have around when one is dealing with illness.
