Picasso Marble Frog & Kokopelli Figural by Herbert Him

$ 900.00

A fantastic frog double and Kokopelli, carved protecting the village. Carved and delivered to Sunshine in November of 2016 by Herbert Him Senior; this fabulous carving depicts 2 frogs climbing up the walls of the well defined village; one about to reach the top, where a Zuni prayer bowl rests! There's a symbolic corn stalk on the opposite facing side with many corn 'maidens' growing. The pièce de résistance is the incised hole that goes through the village walls; creating a passage way! There's a Kokopelli playing his flute at the portal entrance with a Kolowisi carved in relief above the labyrinth style ringed exit on the opposite side. We aren't sure what the symbolism is but think it has something to do with the 4 worlds the Zunis passed through to reach Mother Earth!
