$ 90.00

A cream, gray, lime and sage green Salt River Canyon, Arizona serpentine quarried frog with malachite inlaid eyes and dots carved by Avery Quandelacy - a younger brother to Stewart & Andres Quandelacy - who died too soon in early 2018 in his late forties. Frogs are the result of water so are associated with the prominence of rain & are used to encourage the growth of crops. Zuni believe the frog is a reminder that we are all the same - development wise - we begin as tiny fishlike creatures in the womb then we evolve from swimmers to creatures of the land. The frogs sings its song reminding us of our watery beginning.
