Antler Bird, Eagle by Troy Sice

$ 4,000.00

A large elk antler eagle with gold-lip and penn shell inlaid eyes called the Messenger - winning a first place ribbon for Troy Sice in the 2021 Phoenix, Arizona Annual Heard Museum Guild Indian Fair & Market! We are happy to have this fine bird that is perched on a big abalone hand made arrowhead. Troy has used leather to hold the bird in place on the arrowhead in the traditional Zuni style and he has added an offering bundle to the top of the back consisting of 3 large faceted blue Peruvian opal and six Mediterranean coral beads. The wings & tail are meticulously incised then the tips have been burnished for color contrast. Whomever buys this eagle will also receive the blue ribbon that accompanies it -so this large eagle will command attention for its beauty, size and its winning ribbon. The Zuni believe the creator made the eagle to be a teacher for mankind - and due to their ability to fly the highest; they can send our prayers to the great divine.
