A small Number Eight Mine turquoise frog with coral inlaid eyes & a spiny oyster arrowhead, carved by Daphne Quam & Leland Boone. Frogs are the result of water so are associated with the prominence of rain & are used to encourage the growth of crops. Zuni believe the frog is a reminder that we are all the same - development wise - we begin as tiny fishlike creatures in the womb then we evolve from swimmers to creatures of the land. The frogs sings its song reminding us of our watery beginning.
