Soapstone Badger by Lorandina Sheche

$ 110.00

Figure # 3 from plate II of Frank Hamilton Cushing's Second Annual Report of the Bureau of Ethnology from 1881 -- This is a badger carved by Lorandina Sheche from a cream and red sienna veined piece of soapstone with turquoise inlaid eyes. There's a hollowed out circle in the mid section - "to facilitate suspension" as well as one turquoise cab inlaid to the top of the badger's back. Badger medicine bolsters one's defenses; most especially self preservation skills by focusing / guiding the spirit to be more tenacious & grounded when working towards a goal.
