Serpentine Frog by Elroy Gasper, Deceased

$ 225.00

A soft sienna red and green serpentine frog carved by the Elroy Gasper with turquoise eyes inlaid into the raised eyes sockets. There is a fantastic offering bundle circling the girth featuring a gold-lip arrowhead, a turquoise and coral bead. Elroy Gasper was Dinah & Pete Gasper's son that died around 2010. Frogs are the result of water so are associated with the prominence of rain & are used to encourage the growth of crops. Zuni believe the frog is a reminder that we are all the same - development wise - we begin as tiny fishlike creatures in the womb then we evolve from swimmers to creatures of the land. The frogs sings its song reminding us of our watery beginning.
