Picasso Marble Six-Directional Figure by Derrick Kaamasee

$ 180.00

A cream, gray and brown colored Picasso marble six-directional figure with all six animals peaking out from the stone with turquoise inlaid eyes. The eagle is carved in the round perched on top of the carving with the mole incised on the bottom of the carving. Derrick has added a village kiva at one end of the carving, inlaying get cabs to suggest structural vigas. The 6 animals represent the six directions the Zuni revere and the directions they are associated with. So there's a mountain lion that represents the North, a badger for the South, a wolf for the East, a bear for the West, the eagle represents the zenith and the nadir underworld is the domain of the mole.
