Travis Lasiloo
Black Marble Horse by Travis Lasiloo
A black marble horse with incised fur all over its body and turquoise and jet beaded eyes - carved by the realistic artist; Travis Lasiloo. Travis has created quite an expressive face; the horse's head seems to be jutting forward towards the viewer. All the legs are painstakingly carved in the round with good confirmation and the tail and mane seem to be suspended in the wind - quite lovely ya'll! Horses were once an integral part of tribal cultures, honored in objects, stories, songs, and ceremonies. Native Americans viewed the horse as a sanctified blessing that should be protected at all times. The Zuni also believe the horse has healing powers
